Project Description

New mixed-use building in Ancaster, ON. This project is for 10 residential units which are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors and commercial use on the main floor. The building is located closer to the street and the parking is at the rear of the building with access via a driveway going under the 2nd floor above. This contemporary design suits well the concept for this development. The design has a striking and simple massing while manipulating the use of solids and voids.

This new condominium building will incorporate an existing heritage house . The intent of the design is to create a modern glass building which will not detract from the heritage building. the new mass is sympathetic with the existing house scale and it compliments its aspects not “imitating” the heritage design language. As a result, the heritage house will continue to stand out and be the prominent focal point of this site. The new building will have 19 units with 3 storeys.

Upper Wentworth Hamilton Condo by Pierre Urban Architects Inc

Project Description

New 6 storeys condo building with 168 units and 162,000 SF of commercial on the ground floor in a busy intersection in Hamilton. Underground parking is proposed for this development to achieve the desired number of parking spaces. Amenities areas will be on the rooftop. The design is very contemporary in principal consisting in basically glass mass with striking architectural details. The use of the wood panel architectural feature at the corner softens the building and becomes the main focal point from the street.  The building faces are closer to the streets which is a urban design approach that is more describable to this busy urban area.
