City of Brampton’s urban planning strategy for this district is to increase residential density. Tall buildings are quickly transforming the streetscape and becoming a vision of this area for the near future.
Pierre Urban Architects has been retained to design a new residential complex consisting of four condo towers situated at the corner of Queen St and Dixie Rd, Brampton. The project will be developed in three phases. Phase I entails the construction of two 40 storey towers located on the south side; Phase II will consist of a single 56 storey tower; Phase III includes a 65-storey tower for a combined 2,648 units. All parking will be located underground, resulting in a larger landscaped urban area at the ground level at the centre of the towers. This will create a courtyard approach and unite the buildings. The built form of the towers showcases a simple and modern approach. A “cut” is introduced in the design to create a visual link between the towers which appears to be continuous from one tower to the next.
